After doing a bit of rock climbing, I sat down to look at the glorious beauty God had given this country, to ponder my experiences in Idaho, and to genuinely thank God for both.

Every relationship you have should have purpose. Either they are helping you get closer to God or you are helping them get closer to God. You should ask yourself; Am I being productive with this person? In this relationship? Am I moving forward or backward? Am I becoming a better person? Are they…

“For God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

—   2 Timothy 1:7, The Holy Bible
Do you know how easy and difficult this can be?
I challenge you today until the end of this Earth— commit everything to the Lord.

Amazing Grace

Do you remember when God’s grace first found you?

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been savedAnd God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ JesusFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:4-9)

If you have never experienced the saving grace of Jesus, please understand that it is a gift freely given to those who ask. The Lord is merciful and generous— and He loves YOU. If you would like to know more about our awesome Savior, you are welcome to inbox me. :)

“[A virtuous woman] is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.”

—   Proverbs 31:14, The Holy Bible

A Woman Who Feeds Her Family

The wife has a powerful position in the home, in that she can prepare meals that are nutritious for her husband and family. She can prepare meals that boost the metabolism and promote the heart, the mind, the muscles, etc– and that are tasty!

Proverbs 31:14 says that the virtuous woman is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar. Whether it requires studying healthy living/cooking/recipes or making a few more trips to the grocery store for fresh foods, the virtuous woman is in the position to care for the health of her family through the foods that they eat.

Of course, neither spouse can “make” the other exercise or eat healthier. But I truly believe that the woman of the household– while her husband and children are at home– is largely responsible for the nutritional value of the food she serves. Outside of the home, the husband may eat twinkies and donuts; but at least he’s being fed healthy, yummy meals the majority of the time.

The woman has the ability to affect her household through the foods she prepares.

As a woman who feeds her family, what do you have cooking?

School&School Soon

With my first year of college behind me + a six week summer math course behind me, I am ready for this next semester to begin— and end!

This semester will conclude my university and state core curriculum. I am thankful to be one semester ahead of schedule and diving into my Elementary Education classes this coming Spring.

For the Fall 2012 semester, I am taking:

—Geology (Earth Systems)

—Biology (Intro. to Biological Sciences)

—Political Science

—Business Calculus

—Child Development

15 credit hours, 2 Honors courses, 3 regular courses, 1 online course, and 4 face-to-face courses. Should be a good semester. :)

In addition to my university classes, my job at the elementary school continues after summer holiday. All of my 5th graders have graduated to 6th grade and middle school (boo!), but I am thankful I will still have mostly the same Kindergartners through 4th graders (now 1st graders through 5th graders). Whoo hoo!

So… school&school begins soon. This coming Monday.

{Jesus, I thank You for providing me with a job and the opportunity to attend university. I thank You for giving me a successful first year at both, and Lord, I look forward to what You have planned for this coming year.

Receiving a higher education and receiving a paycheck are nice, Lord, but I know that this life I live is ALL about YOU! As I enter the classroom as a student and as a teacher, let my light shine brightly for You. Fill my mouth with the words You would have me to speak. Let me have good communication and be wise to lead souls to You. Do a work in me this semester, God.

I trust in Your very capable, always providing, ever faithful hands. You are GOOD. And I love You so much! In Jesus’ name, Amen.}

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; in Him will I trust.’”
